CollaborativeDevelopment Committee (CDC)
First established in May 1999 as a task force, this Committee's primary goal is to leverage the member libraries' collective purchasing strength through negotiation with vendors of library and information services. Since its inception, the Committee has acquired a number of files through collaborative negotiations. In June 1999, the Committee compiled a set of general guidelines for license negotiation with the aim of providing terms of reference for use by JULAC member libraries during the negotiation processes. Two documents are now in use: General Guidelines for Vendor Negotiation and the Model License Agreement, both endorsed by JULAC in 2004. Other academic, public and institutional libraries are also welcome to join in the efforts. The Committee's Guidelines for External Participation provides more details on how to become an affiliated member. The entry form, Affiliated Membership Agreement and Members List are available online. CDC Membership
