3+3+4 The Countdown

CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
JULAC held a forum for the staff of the JULAC Libraries to share knowledge about how their libraries are responding to 3+3+4 and for JULAC to brief staff on its future directions, including 3+3+4, as well as reviewing its activities for 2011.
The forum was divided into two key segments. The first being a presentation from the JULAC Chair on the current projects and future directions for JULAC. After the presentation from JULAC there was a panel session where JULAC staff could address questions to the panel, comprising of the JULAC Directors.The second part of the forum were presentations from staff from the eight libraries on how their libraries are responding to the challenges of 3+3+4.
Each library was invited to present a minimum of one paper and a maximum of two papers on any of the following themes and 3+3+4

Learning Spaces (Learning Commons, buildings, services, staffing etc)

Learning Strategies ( information literacy, outreach services, e-learning initiatives, research support, etc)

Technologies (discovery systems, IT, IApps, mobile applications, RFID etc)
Each presentation was approximately 15- 20 minutes. Presenters were advised on the required length of their presentation after the program has been finalized. At the end of the presentations for each themed session there was a 15-20 minute question and answer session for the presentations given in that session.
Each library submitted the names of their presenter/s, topics and a short summary ( 50-100 words) of the presentation to their representative on the JULAC Library Forum Organising Committee before December 16th 2011. Presenters submitted the PPT’s of their presentation to their representative on the JULAC Library Forum Organising Committee before February 7th 2012. The program and the PPTS are available on the JULAC website.
INVITATION
JULAC would like to invite staff from the JULAC libraries to attend the third JULAC Libraries Forum “3+3+4 The Countdown” to be held February 23rd 2012 at Lingnan.
Lunch will be provided. Each JULAC library’s representative on the JULAC Libraries Forum Organising Committee will arrange registration for the JULAC Libraries Forum for their library. Participants must register before January 17th 2012. Please note this is a “green” conference and copies of the program and PPTS will not be printed and distributed to participants. If participants wish, they can print copies of the Program and the PPTS from the JULAC website after February 7th 2012.
Details on transport arrangements to and from Lingnan University will be available at a later date.
