2026 JULAC Libraries Forum
User-centric Libraries: a Sustainable Future through
Innovation, Technology, and Collaboration
Friday, 9th January 2026
City University of Hong Kong
The Joint University Librarians Advisory Committee (JULAC), will organize a staff forum, named “User-centric Libraries: a Sustainable Future through Innovation, Technology, and Collaboration” at the City University of Hong Kong on 9th January 2026 (Friday).
The eight publicly funded universities in Hong Kong have a longstanding tradition of collaboration and expertise sharing through JULAC. The Forum serves as a platform for library professionals within JULAC to discuss critical issues and share insights on the latest advancements in the academic library field.
The Organizing Committee cordially invites each JULAC library to deliver one presentation about its latest projects and developments related to the theme. It is believed that we can all learn and benefit from one another by openly sharing our achievements and challenges.
Each presentation will last 20 minutes, followed by a Q&A after every 4 presentations. For joint presentations, not more than two speakers can deliver the presentation on stage.
Call for Presentations
Each library is invited to submit its presentation topic, 50-100 words abstract and the name(s) of the presenter(s) to its respective representative in the Organizing Committee by 6th October 2025 (Monday). The presentation topics of the libraries should align with the theme of the Forum.
By 2nd January 2026 (Friday), presenters should email their presentation file (a maximum of 40 PowerPoint slides) to their representative for the site preparation.
Presentations will be recorded and shared—along with the corresponding slide decks—on the JULAC website for knowledge-sharing and archival purposes in due course. We hope all presenters will give us the consent as assumed. If there are any questions, please discuss with their institutional representatives directly.
A copy of this Call for Presentations will be available on the JULAC website. And the full programme will also be available in early November 2025.
