JULAC is committed to the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in support of teaching, learning, research, and collaboration across Hong Kong’s universities. We recognize AI as a valuable tool for advancing discovery, facilitating resource sharing and for enhancing services. JULAC emphasizes that its use must consistently uphold copyright, safeguard privacy, and preserve academic integrity. By drawing on the human judgment of library professionals, we will seek to ensure that AI is used responsibly, safely, transparently, and with proper acknowledgment. This includes helping students, faculty, and researchers understand both what AI can do and where its limits are. It also means providing carefully
governed AI access to selected digital collections, including library-digitized materials and licensed vendor resources, consistent with rights-holders’ permissions and patron privacy.
