JULAC Libraries Forum 2012. "3+3+4 The Countdown" |

JULAC will hold its third JULAC Libraries Forum “3=3+4 The Countdown” for the staff of the JULAC Libraries to share knowledge about how their libraries are responding to 3+3+4 and for JULAC to brief staff on its future directions as well as reviewing its activities in 2011.
The forum will be divided into two key segments. The first being a presentation from JULAC on the current projects and future directions for JULAC. After the presentation from JULAC there will be a JULAC Directors panel session where staff can address questions to the JULAC Directors.
The second part of the forum will be presentations from staff from the eight libraries on how their libraries are responding to the challenges of 3+3+4. The second part of the forum will be divided into themed sessions
- Learning Spaces (Learning Commons, buildings, services, staffing etc)
- Learning Strategies (information literacy, outreach services, e-learning initiatives reference services, etc)
- Technologies (systems, IT, IApps, mobile applications etc.)

JULAC will held its second JULAC Libraries Forum "3+3+4=A Perfect Ten?: The Challenges of Excellent Library Services." JULAC is holding the forum for the staff of the JULAC Libraries to share knowledge about how their libraries are responding to 3+3+4 and for JULAC to brief staff on its future directions, including 3+3+4, as well as reviewing its activities for 2010.
The JULAC Libraries Forum 2011 was divided into two key segments. The first being presentations from the JULAC Directors on the current projects and future directions for JULAC. The second part of the forum was presentations from staff from the eight libraries on how their libraries are responding to the challenges of 3+3+4. The second part of the forum will be divided into themed parallel sessions.
- Learning Spaces (Learning Commons, buildings, services, staffing etc)

- Collections (collection development, e-resources, digitization, preservation etc.)
- Technologies (systems, IT, IApps, mobile applications etc.)

JULAC will hold its first JULAC Libraries Forum "Moving Forward with JULAC". The JULAC Libraries Forum will be divided into two key segments. The first being presentations from the JULAC Directors on the current projects and future directions for JULAC. After the presentations from the Directors there will be a panel session where JULAC staff can address questions to the JULAC Directors. The second part of the JULAC Libraries Forum will be presentations from each of the eight JULAC libraries on the latest developments in their libraries.

The conference is an initiative of JULAC's Electronic Resources Academic Library Link (ERALL) consortium. The ERALL consortium purchases E-Books for shared and perpetual access among the eight member libraries. Funded by the University Grants Committee Restructuring and Collaboration Fund, the conference aims at exchanging experiences and best practices in strategic collection development, acquisitions, promotion and use of E-Books.

The Hong Kong Library Association will hold an international conference to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of JULAC the JULAC Directors hosted a dinner to acknowledge the contribution of retired JULAC university librarians.
